87% of law firms have a website. Only 35%* get clients from it.
If you’re like most partners I talk to, you already have a website. It’s just not pulling its weight. It lives on an aging template, reads more like a legal brief than a conversation, and no one on your team has the time to update it.
I design WordPress websites for boutique law firms and solo attorneys that build trust: showing up in local search when someone needs an attorney, and communicating your expertise in plain language that matches the way your clients describe their problems.
Could your website could be working harder for your firm ?

problem
1. Forgettable design with a generic template
Most law firm websites use the same stock photos, the same generic language, and the same template layouts. Potential clients can’t tell firms apart and if they can’t tell you apart, they’re choosing based on price or proximity alone.
problem
2. Unreadable, unsearchable content
Most clients aren’t lawyers. When your website leads with terms like “testamentary instruments” or “tortious interference,” you lose people before they reach your contact form. Plain language doesn’t undermine your expertise, it clarifies it.
problem
3. Struggle to balance content with legal advertising rules
State bar associations regulate how attorneys market their services online, and navigating those rules often produces websites that are either too stiff or too salesy. I work with attorneys and staff to create content that’s consistent with legal advertising requirements.
problem
4. Accessibility gaps create real legal exposure
Law firms serving the public have particular reason to take web accessibility seriously. An inaccessible website isn’t just a usability problem, it can expose your firm to complaints and litigation. I build to WCAG 2.1 AA conformance and train your team to understand and maintain accessibility guidance.
Sound familiar?
- Generic templates that make your firm look like every competitor in your practice area.
- Legal jargon that loses potential clients (and doesn’t help rankings).
- Content that tip‑toes around advertising rules but still feels stiff or salesy
- Accessibility gaps that create legal and reputational risk
Ensure your law firm’s website is fully compliant, secure, and designed to meet today’s client expectations.
What I do for law firms (beyond making it pretty)
Search engine optimization & local SEO
Instead of chasing high‑volume keywords that attract the wrong matters, I focus on your practice areas and locations so the clients you’re actually equipped to help are the ones finding you.
Content strategy and copywriting
I connect practice areas, attorney bios, articles, and your local business page so they support each other. That builds topical authority and helps clients understand who to call for what, without turning your site into a content mill.
Accessibility conformance
I build to WCAG 2.1 AA, test with automated and manual methods, and train your team on the basics. This helps to reduce your exposure and aligns your site with the same care you bring to client work.

Website FAQs
How long does it take to build a law firm website?
Custom WordPress websites can take 4-6 weeks or 6-8 months. This process includes discovery, design, development, content creation, and thorough testing.
During our project, we’ll have regular communication through email and scheduled Zoom calls. Most firms spend a maximum of 1–2 hours per week during the build for reviews and content decisions.
Request a complimentary call with me and we can review your current site and needs.I’ll provide a clear proposal and timeline after our initial consultation.
How do you ensure my website will attract new clients?
I build websites that search engines can easily find and understand, which helps potential clients discover your firm when they’re looking for legal help. This includes optimizing your site’s structure and speed, ensuring it loads quickly on all devices, and organizing content with clear headings that both users and search engines can navigate.
I also add structured data (code that helps Google understand what your business does and where you’re located) so your firm appears prominently in local search results. The combination of technical optimization, strategic content organization, and fast performance creates a strong foundation for attracting qualified leads.
We can also review other tools in the SEO tool-belt to help you achieve your search goals, including AI overviews and how social platforms factor into the bigger brand picture.
Can I update the website content myself?
Yes, that’s a priority. I provide thorough WordPress training for you and your staff on managing WordPress content, adding new pages, updating attorney bios, and posting news or case results. You’ll also receive custom documentation tailored to your team’s technical comfort level.
Do you provide website hosting or do I need my own?
I can work with select existing hosting providers or recommend managed WordPress hosts that specialize in professional service websites. I’ll guide you through the technical requirements and help ensure your hosting meets security and performance standards.
“You get what you pay for,” is the general rule of thumb here and cheap hosting is cheap hosting.
Is the website optimized for search engines?
Every website I build includes foundational SEO including optimized page titles, meta descriptions, local business schema, and mobile-friendly design. We also optimize content for AI search tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI overviews, ensuring potential clients can find you whether they’re using traditional search engines or AI-powered search tools when looking for legal services in your area.
Do you handle ongoing maintenance and updates?
Websites require consistent maintenance to stay secure, functional, and compliant. I offer website maintenance plans after 30-days of complimentary support which include: regular security updates, performance monitoring, backup management, and accessibility audits.
I also provide priority support for urgent issues and help with content updates when your team needs assistance.
Will our website be accessible to users with disabilities?
I prioritize accessibility in every project and conduct testing throughout including automated scans, manual keyboard navigation checks, and screen reader compatibility testing using Voiceover. There are limitations to tests and no website developer can guarantee 100% accessibility for every user, in every situation. I work to identify and address common barriers so your site welcomes the widest possible audience and conforming to guidelines.
Following current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), I work to make your site as inclusive as possible. I can also recommend 3rd party accessibility testing services who work with disabled users for more comprehensive tests when needed.
Can you help us plan for case result pages, testimonials, and disclaimers?
Absolutely! This a big part of content development and strategy work. Planning for the real-life content needs of a dynamic website. For past clients I’ve integrated dynamic webinar content, built searchable databases for legal statutes, and built specific disclaimers and required text into templates.
