There’s no such thing as a “brochure” website.
Your brand new website launches. You’ve put money – as well as the requisite blood, sweat, and tears – into it. The design is clean, the copy checks all the right marketing boxes … and a prospect who just glanced at your homepage still couldn’t tell you what you do or who you work with.
Most consultants, agencies, and B2B firms I work with aren’t struggling because their work isn’t good. They’re struggling because their website makes it look like everyone else’s.
A website that works for a professional services business does something specific: it makes the right people feel understood, shows them what working with you actually looks like, and gives them a reason to reach out to you first.

Challenges I hear from B2B business owners
You’ve invested in SEO marketing and still don’t see the right leads
This is the defining frustration for most professional services clients: the reports look fine, the traffic has improved, and the leads are still generic. That’s because most SEO work optimizes for traffic rather than for conversion. Ranking for broad terms increase impressions, but if those visitors can’t quickly tell that you’re the right choice for their specific situation, they aren’t going to click on your link.
Your site sounds like everyone else in your space
If you took your name and logo off your homepage and put a competitor’s on it, would it still work? For most consulting and training websites, the honest answer is yes. Differentiation comes from specificity — named frameworks, defined client types, concrete outcomes — and that requires working through your positioning and clarifying audience needs before writing a single word of copy.
Your strongest proof is buried in a deck
Strong case studies live in pitch decks, client presentations, and PDFs. They’re referenced on sales calls but never structured in a way that prospects can browse, link to, or share. That’s a consistent missed opportunity — especially when buyers are doing their own research before they ever get on a call with you. Getting proof out of slide decks and into structured, accessible pages on your site makes a real difference in how prospects experience your work.
I love Emily! I have worked with her for many years, and she has never disappointed me. She is dialed in to our project and website needs, is detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture, responds in a timely manner, is proactive with communication, and troubleshoots along the way. I highly recommend her.

What I create for agencies and consultants
Before I touch the design or the SEO, I work with you to clarify who you help, what you do, and how you describe it.
That means getting specific about your target clients, your service lines, and the language that makes the right people feel immediately understood.
Search engine optimization & local SEO
The keyword research I do for professional service firms starts with how your actual prospects search, not just what gets the most traffic. That usually means a mix of specific service-related searches, problem-based queries, and long-tail terms that align with your niche.
Content strategy and case study development
If your frameworks, methodologies, or proprietary approaches need to be explained, I help translate them into plain language that builds credibility. Getting proof out of decks and into structured, browsable pages on your site is some of the highest-value work I do for professional services firms.
I can help you structure the story, draft the copy from your notes or a short conversation, and build it into the site in a format that supports the sales process. I also develop the broader content plan — focused on quality over volume, tied directly to what you’re trying to sell.
Accessibility conformance
A lot of agencies won’t even mention digital accessibility in their briefs but that doesn’t mean it’s not required of your website! I build to WCAG 2.1 AA, test with automated and manual methods, and train your team on the basics. This helps to reduce your exposure and aligns your site with the same care you bring to client work.

Can I interest you in a free website report?
No encyclopedia sets, no steak knives.
Just send me a link to your website and I’ll send you a 10-minute video summary of what’s working, what isn’t, and where to focus first.
As a new business owner, I really enjoyed working with Emily! She did an outstanding job at listening to my seemingly random thoughts and ideas… She anticipated my needs and was able to deliver a product that I was completely satisfied with. I would highly recommend Emily!

What it’s like to work with me
Based in Chautauqua County, NY, I work with consultants, agencies, studios, trainers, facilitators, and B2B firms throughout the United States. Professional services clients are often the most interesting to work with, the challenge is almost always about clarity in communication, not just design.
Strategies that fit your reality
No generic templates, no content calendars you won’t maintain, no pressure to publish twice a week. The content plan we build is one you can actually execute — focused on quality over volume and tied directly to what you’re trying to sell.
Responsive communication
You work directly with me. I explain decisions clearly, document what we’ve agreed to, and flag trade-offs before they become problems. Conversations are structured and agenda-driven, so your time is used well.
Decisions backed by data
I use Google Search Console, your site analytics, and keyword research to guide decisions. You’ll understand why we’re doing what we’re doing, and you’ll be able to see the results. At launch, I walk you through exactly how to manage your site and provide written and video documentation.

Professional service website FAQs
How long does it take to build an SMB business website?
Custom WordPress websites can take 4-6 weeks or 6-8 months. This process includes discovery, design, development, content creation, and thorough testing.
Request a complimentary call with me and we can review your current site and needs. I’ll provide a clear proposal and timeline after our initial consultation.
Will a new website affect my Google rankings?
A well-managed migration protects your existing visibility. We keep URLs consistent where possible, redirect anything that changes, and monitor Search Console through the transition. For most professional services sites, better structure and clearer content improves rankings over time rather than disrupting them.
I make sure that your website is optimized for local search by including Google Business profile integration, researching local keywords for services, and developing location-specific content. This work helps you rank in local organic search when potential clients are looking for accounting services in your area.
We can also review other tools in the SEO tool-belt to help you achieve your search goals, including AI overviews and how social platforms factor into the bigger brand picture.
How can we use a blog without having to write every week?
We’ll identify a small set of high‑value topics, like complex issues your ideal clients always ask about, and build those into your site structure. That way, even a handful of well‑chosen articles can support your services, show your expertise, and give you something meaningful to share in email and social, without turning you into a full‑time writer.
Is the website optimized for search engines?
Every website I build includes foundational SEO including optimized page titles, meta descriptions, local business schema, and mobile-friendly design. We also optimize content for AI search tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI overviews, ensuring potential clients can find you whether they’re using traditional search engines or AI-powered search tools when looking for accounting services in your area.
Can I update the website content myself?
Absolutely. I always want to empower my clients to own and update their content. Custom websites are built on WordPress with user-friendly editing tools. I provide training and documentation so you can easily update service pages, and publish content without calling me every time.
Do you provide website hosting or do I need my own?
I can work with select existing hosting providers or recommend managed WordPress hosts that specialize in professional service websites. I’ll guide you through the technical requirements and help ensure your hosting meets security and performance standards.
“You get what you pay for,” is the general rule of thumb here and cheap hosting is cheap hosting.
Do you handle ongoing maintenance and updates?
Websites require consistent maintenance to stay secure, functional, and compliant. I offer website maintenance plans after 30-days of complimentary support which include: regular security updates, performance monitoring, backup management, and accessibility audits.
I also provide priority support for urgent issues and help with content updates when your team needs assistance.
Can we keep some of our existing content and just reorganize it?
That depends. If you have existing content, we start with “design discovery”. That will include a full content inventory to identify gaps, weaknesses, out of date, and redundant content.
Good content in the wrong structure or disconnected from your services is a common situation. We’ll assess what’s worth keeping, what needs to be updated, and what should be retired. Then we will reorganize it around your current positioning.
I can help if writing services are needed. Some clients provide detailed notes and I do the writing. Others prefer to draft and have me edit for clarity, structure, and plain language. We’ll figure out what fits your process during discovery. Key pages — home, about, services — usually benefit from close collaboration.
Do you offer ongoing help after launch?
Yes, month-to-month or annual website maintenance is available.
I also offer pre-paid “time banks”. Buy hours in advance, use them for anything. That might look like content planning, SEO monitoring, small site updates, or a quarterly review of what’s working. The scope is flexible based on what you actually need.
I’ve already worked with an SEO agency. Do we have to start from scratch?
Not necessarily. I’ll audit what’s in place and tell you honestly what’s working and what isn’t. Sometimes there’s a solid foundation worth keeping. Other times there’s technical or content debt that’s actively holding things back. Either way, you’ll know what you’re working with before we make any decisions.
Can you help us develop case studies from past client work?
Yes. I can help you structure the story, draft the copy based on your notes or a short conversation, and build it into the site in a format that supports the sales process. Client names and details can be changed or kept general if confidentiality is a concern.
