Websites for Contractors and Skilled Trades

You’re already busy. You want fewer headaches, less back‑and‑forth, and a steady flow of the right jobs in the areas you serve.

A better website filters out the tire-kickers before they tie up your phone lines

I help local trades — contractors, plumbers, HVAC, cleaners, and detailers — get a website that works on every device, answers your customers’ most common questions, and makes it easy to call or request a quote.

Most of your customers are searching on a phone and deciding in about 8 seconds whether to call you. Don’t make them hunt and peck for the next step or waste your time with questions about rates or service areas.

Wondering how people are searching for your services in your area?

What I build for trades and home service businesses

Local search visibility

Most of your customers search by location — “electrician in Jamestown” or “roof repair near me.” I build your site around those searches: service pages for your main services, service‑area pages where it makes sense, local business schema, and a clean connection to your Google Business Profile. You don’t need to rank nationally, you need to show up where your customers are.

Content that answers the right questions

I help you write the pages people expect to see before they decide to call: services, service area, how it works, process, about your company. I can work from a short conversation or some rough notes and handle the rest, in plain language that sounds like you.

Branding, photography, and print design

When someone sees your truck, gets your number from a neighbor, or spots a yard sign, they’re going to check you out before they call. A clean logo, a simple business card, and a domain email and website to establish trust before a lead even speaks with you.

I can help with a logo refresh, business cards, and print materials — door hangers, postcards, flyers — so the first impression matches the quality of your work. I’m also available for basic editorial photography if needed (real images are always better than stock).

Accessibility conformance

I build to WCAG 2.1 AA, test with automated and manual methods, and train your team on the basics — so everyone can use your website and access your services.

Emily did an amazing job of understanding our needs, developing a vision based on our vague instructions, then translating that information into a clear, organized, professional-looking site. In addition to being reliable and responsive, Emily exceeded expectations with her proactive approach, working with us to refine the site and suggesting useful features we hadn’t considered.

What it’s like to work with me

Based in Chautauqua County, NY, I work with trades and home service businesses throughout the United States. You tell me what you do, who your customers are, and what questions you’re tired of answering — I handle the rest. A clear scope, good communication, and a site that’s done right the first time.

Strategies that fit your reality

You’re not going to update a blog every week, and you shouldn’t have to. The sites I build are designed to stay accurate with minimal upkeep — focused on the pages that matter and easy to update when something changes.

Responsive communication

You work directly with me. I explain what I’m doing and why, and I flag anything that might affect your timeline or budget before it becomes a problem.

Decisions backed by data

I use Google Search Console and keyword research to make sure your site is built around how your customers actually search. After launch, I walk you through how to check your own numbers in your analytics platform — you won’t need a monthly report from someone else to know what’s working.

Trade service website FAQs

I don’t have a website at all. Where do we start?

With a short conversation. You tell me what you do, where you work, and what questions you get most often — I’ll outline a simple site structure and send a clear proposal. Most trades businesses need four to six focused pages, not a complicated build.

I build clean, mobile-first WordPress sites organized around your services, service area, and how people get in touch. The editing tools are straightforward enough that you can update a phone number, add a photo, or change your hours without calling anyone. Nothing proprietary, nothing that locks you in.

Request a complimentary call with me and we can review your current site and needs.I’ll provide a clear proposal and timeline after our initial consultation.

Do I have to write all of the content?

No. I can work from a phone call, some rough notes, or a list of your most common customer questions. You review what I write and tell me if it sounds right, we adjust from there.

What do I need to send you?

Your logo (or an idea of what you’d like), a few photos of your work, and your basic service and contact information. If you have existing materials — business cards, a Facebook page, printed flyers — those are useful starting points. I’ll tell you exactly what I need after we’ve talked through the project.

Can I still use my Facebook page?

Absolutely — and you should. Your website is your home base; Facebook is one of the places you use to point people there. Having both is better than having just one.

What if I change my phone number, service area, or services?

That’s a normal part of running a business. I build the site so you can make those updates yourself and provide written and video instructions so you’re not guessing. If you’d rather have me handle it, that’s what maintenance support is for.

How long does a trades website project take and what’s the price tag?

Starting at $1500 a 1-week build is an option to get you up and running for a low starting fee.

For more in-depth design and content work, expect 4–8 weeks from our first call to launch, depending on how quickly content and photos come together. These projects are usually between 5 and 7K.

I’ll give you a realistic timeline in the proposal.

What if I don’t want online booking right now?

A simple contact form or click-to-call is often enough to start. Online booking can be added later if you decide you want it — I won’t push you into tools you don’t need yet.
